/01/1945 to /04/1945, No. 83 Group Support Unit RAF (GSU) with Spitfire, Typhoon, Tempest and Auster aircraft.
/04/1945 to /10/1945, Dunsfold designated an Arrival Centre and received 47,529 released prisoners of war from Europe and the Middle East.
/04/1945 to 10/1945, No. 83 Group Disbandment Centre receiving units from Europe with Spitfires and Typhoons.
/08/1946, RAF airfield closure.
/08/1946 to /1951, Airfield used by Skyways Airlines with Dakota, Dove, Lancastrian, Rapide and York aircraft. Skyways also used Dunsfold to refurbish, test fly and deliver Hurricanes and Spitfires to the Portuguese Air Force. 1948, Skyways aircraft used extensively during the Berlin Airlift.
/07/1951 to , Hawker moved flight testing and some manufacturing from their other airfields at Kingston and Langley, aircraft here included Sea Fury, Sea Hawk, Hunter, Gnat, Harrier and Hawk.
The Hawker P1127, the world's first aircraft able to take off vertically made its maiden flight at Dunsfold 20/11/1960.
Dunsfold airfield is a familiar sight to millions of viewers as the test track for the Top Gear TV programme.
Airfield and test track are soon due to disappear under 1,800 new homes.
