Derelict - both buildings were restored in 2000/01 but were left empty and have now deteriorated. Then sold to private owner by local Council, current status not known
Other Buildings:
Few, E-W runway used as airstrip
History:
Second satellite airfield to Coltishall.
11/1941 to 08/1943 Fighter Station, Squadrons here: 19, 91, 152, 167, 602, 603, 610, 611, with Spitfires and 195 Squadron with Typhoons.
Airfield then allocated to USAAF but no units based here.
08/1944 to 02/1945 Allocated to Royal Navy as HMS Flycatcher.
Returned to RAF Fighter Command, 22/02/1945 to 01/05/1945, Squadrons here 91, 602, 603, with Spitfires, 14/5/1945 to 14/07/1945, No 1 Squadron with Spitfires.
