History:
04/42, Built as an RAF bomber OTU but transferred to the USAAF.
30/07/42, opened but USAAF did not take over until 03/08/43. 12/43 to 02/44, 5th Combat Crew Replacement Centre ground to air firing practice for B-24 Liberator bomber crews, moved to Cheddington.
1944, satellite air depot to Langford Lodge with B-17s and B-24s.
03/12/43 to 09/44, 4th Gunnery and Tow Target Flight with Havoc, Lysander and Vengeance A-35B's in the B-24 gunnery school, moved to Chipping Ongar.
02/45 to 05/45, 5th Airdrome Sqn in control of air depot.
31/05/45 returned to RAF control.
