06/43 to 07/44, 556th, 557th, 558th and 559th Bombardment Squadrons of the 387th Bombardment Group (M) with B-26 Marauders from the U.S.A.
10/43, 387th BG transferred from VIIIth to IXth USAAF,
07/44 moved to Stoney Cross. The 387th Bomb Group flew 204 missions from Chipping Ongar losing 10 Marauders.
07/44 to 01/45, USSTAF, Air Disarmament Command. 09/44 and 03/45 used by IX Troop Carrier Command.
04/45, Airfield transferred back to the RAF but not used for flying and closed 02/59.
