/06/1943 to /07/1944, 556th, 557th, 558th and 559th Bombardment Squadrons of the 387th Bombardment Group (M) with B-26 Marauders from the U.S.A.
/10/1943, 387th Bomb Group transferred from 8th to 9th USAAF,
/07/1944 moved to Stoney Cross. The 387th Bomb Group flew 204 missions from Chipping Ongar losing 10 Marauders.
/07/1944 to /01/1945, USSTAF, Air Disarmament Command.
/09/1944 to /03/1945 used by 9th USAAF Troop Carrier Command for storage of CG-4 Hadrian gliders.
/04/1945 to /02/1959, Airfield transferred to RAF Technical Training Command, not used for flying
